At BWFC we are known for being a family club and we are constantly looking for opportunities to offer support and care to our fans. That is why we are offering a range of ways to celebrate and remember those significant life moments.
Walkway of Fame
The original ‘Walkway of Fame’, situated at the entrance to the main reception is now full and orders can no longer be accepted. However we are pleased to announce that there are plans to create a new Walkway leading to the Nat Lofthouse statue and Memorial Garden, all due to be launched in August 2013.
Orders can not be accepted for the new Walkway until all the finer details are finalised but anyone interested can request further information and an application form by sending their name and address to email@example.com
. The information will then be sent in the post as soon as it becomes available.
Bricks can be inscribed with any message and placed in the Walkway to celebrate a special or significant moment in your life. It might be to celebrate a special birthday, the birth of a child or a wedding anniversary. Or you may just want to see your name along the pathway leading to the long awaited statue of Nat Lofthouse.
Black memorial bricks will also available as a way of remembering your loved one. These personalised stones provide a way that many have found to be helpful to them as a way of remembering someone special.
Anyone purchasing a brick will receive a certificate once the brick has been placed in the Walkway. If you would prefer to receive your certificate at another date then please ask at purchase. Orders are taken all year round but bricks will be laid in 2 phases each year, dates still to be decided.
Book of Remembrance
BWFC have a Book of Remembrance in which you can have inscribed the name of your loved one, who has died, on the appropriate page which corresponds to the anniversary of their death. This page would be open on that date each year as those people are remembered.
The memorial book is situated outside the Community Office, close to the main entrance and the Walkway of Fame. The book is on view 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are special receptacles on either side of the Memorial for you to place flowers for your loved one at any time, should you wish to do so.
Once a year, during the close season, we hold a Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving conducted by the Club Chaplain. During the service the names of all those inscribed in the memorial book or on a black memorial brick will be read out. Relatives and friends of those being remembered are invited to attend for this special and moving occasion.
